Alison Vickery Rider, M.A.

Alison V. Rider is responsible for planning and coordinating the management of the Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) physical properties. She oversees the engineering, design, construction, modification, maintenance and security of these properties and provides direct support services to all areas of the company. In addition, she directs the acquisition, maintenance and disposal of the vehicle and equipment fleets and manages the acquisition and disposal of real estate and right of way functions.

OPPD has made holistic sustainability - environmental, social, and economic - a central concern of doing business in the communities they serve. The Facilities Management Division, under Alison's leadership, has a key role in putting good sustainability ideas into action in order to meet the broad range of needs among their internal customers.

Alison holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech communication from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and a master's degree in communication from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Her academic background and courses of study, in addition to her leadership practice, include bodies of work that have become core to the Sustainability Leadership Institute's orientation of thinking, being and doing leadership.
