The Joslyn Institute for Sustainable Communities (JISC) invited the Sustainability Leadership Institute to co-develop and deliver Nebraska Sustainability Leadership Workshops conducted throughout the State of Nebraska.
Participants include civic leaders -- mayors, council members, city managers, city planners, school officials, business leaders and active citizens -- of local and regional communities across the State. The Workshops create forums for leaders to explore sustainability challenges and methodologies for generating localized solutions.
The Workshops are tailored for each group of local community leaders enabling them to focus on local challenges in the context of regional, national and global sustainability concerns. Leaders generate solutions to critical, inter-related challenges facing local Nebraska communities using the JISC EcoSTEP™ model for planning, analyzing and measuring sustainability progress. At the same time, they explore pathways for effective leadership practices that will bring change in complex times.
Additional Nebraska Sustainability Leadership Workshops -- and new Conference Conversations -- are proposed for 2010 and 2011.
